Theresienwiese - Day 8, Part 3

The last stop for the day on Monday was Theresienweise, aka the location of Munich's Oktoberfest, which is located west-ish of downtown, and who knows how far from the Neue Pinakothek.  I don't remember if we walked there or took the train, but one of the best things I've learned so far about Munich is that you can walk just about anywhere and when you're done, there's bound to be an U-bahn or S-bahn station somewhere nearby so that you can just hop on the train and leisurely make your way back to wherever you need to be.  So regardless of how we got there, once we were in the Theresienwiese area, we enjoyed walking around for a bit before finally making our way back to the StuStadt with the U-bahn.

Just about anywhere you go in the city, there's a church near-by.  We passed this one on our way to the Theresienweise.  I think it's called St. Paul's.

The weather was overall very nice on Monday, but as we were walking, clouds started to gather and it drizzled a bit.  I like how the clouds look in all of these pictures, especially once they started to darken.

This is Theresienwiese itself...there really wasn't that much to see:

I'm sure it's much more exciting during Oktoberfest.

We weren't sure what this is a statue of, but I just looked it up online and I think it's the Bavaria statue, symbolizing the state of Bavaria:

The Bavariaring creates a circle around Theresienwiese...I think we walked all the way around before making our way back to the StuStadt, where we made dinner and just hung out for a while...and eventually went out for some ice-cream, which was the perfect way to end the long weekend.
